About Us

Nine Lives Supply Co. was founded by me, Hannah Spendlove, an outdoor athlete, and maker based in the Lake Tahoe region.

I did not grow up in the mountains. Before moving to Tahoe at 18, I was an avid runner but otherwise lived a different life. Everything changed when I arrived here. I fell in love with the outdoors, learning to mountain bike, climb, and ski, and quickly found myself toeing start lines, racing bikes, and chasing challenges that only the mountains offer. I went on to win my first "pro" race.

The following year, while defending that title, I crashed, tumbling down the steep cliff like edge of the trail. What followed was a long period of uncertainty marked by mysterious health issues, time off the bike, and a loss of confidence that forced me to slow down and rethink who I was.

During that time, I returned to sewing, something I grew up doing alongside my grandmother. What began as a creative outlet became a lifeline. Making durable, functional bags for bikepacking and climbing gave me purpose again, and slowly a new chapter took shape.

Nine Lives Supply Co. is built on resilience, reinvention, and a deep love for the outdoors. The name reflects both the durability of the gear and the many lives we get to live when we choose to keep going. My love for bold leopard patterns, hard wearing materials, and thoughtful design comes together in pieces meant to be used, abused, and trusted when it matters most.

You will often see our gear tagged with “Not Dead Yet.” It is not about the crash. It is about perseverance. Every time I get back in the saddle and choose forward motion, I am reminded that we are allowed to evolve, rebuild, and keep showing up again and again.
